Our Path Forward at The Village at Rockville

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, National Lutheran Communities & Services and The Village at Rockville have been committed to following the most advanced best practices in health and safety protocols to protect our residents, clients and team members. Currently, COVID-19 vaccines are required for all team members, with proof of vaccination required prior to employment. NLCS has a process for applicants who have been offered a position to request an exemption or deferral for medical or religious reasons.

Current Health Center Visitation Guidelines (as of May 19, 2023)

As a reminder for residents, team members and visitors, we are following requirements from the Maryland Department of Health as well as federal and local regulatory bodies regarding COVID and infection control guidance.

Health Center visitation guidelines:

• IMPORTANT: Visitors should NOT visit when ill. If you test positive for COVID, RSV, or Flu with seven days of your visit today, please inform our front desk staff by calling 301.424.4650.
• Visitors will be screened upon entry to the building. This includes a questionnaire and signs or symptoms of illness. If there is a sign or symptom or concerns with questionnaire answers, the visitor will not be allowed to enter.
• After the screening, each visitor must conduct proper hand hygiene.
• Mask use will be determined by the Maryland Department of Health rate of respiratory illness hospitalizations or community outbreak status. Each visitor will mask as indicated by notification upon entry.
• For residents on isolation for any reason, visitors must follow posted instructions for infection control. Additional PPE may be required as there is an increased risk of transmission.
• Visitors with confirmed COVID19 infection or compatible symptoms should defer non-urgent in-person visitation until they meet CDC criteria for healthcare settings to end isolation.
• For visitors who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19, it is safest to defer non-urgent in-person visitation until 10 days after their close contact.
