myPotential Rehabilitation on Capital News Service
February 28, 2013
Capital News Service highlighted The Village at Rockville's short-term rehabilitation program in light of proposed sequestration cuts to Medicare. Projected Medicare cuts are approximately $9.9 billion, or a 2% cut in Medicare reimbursement rates to providers.
The Village at Rockville's myPotential program provides physical, speech and occupational therapy to 60-65 guests a month. The majority of those guests come from the greater Rockville community after a surgery or acute illness, looking to get better and go home.
"We will weather these cuts and continue to provide high quality of care, not only for our short-term rehabilitation guests, but for all our residents," Executive Director Jana Broughton said. "While these cuts will add up over time, we will continue to look at ways to enhance our efficiencies and offset that balance."
